I am all too familiar with computers. I've been using them for [what seems like] ages, back to when floppy disks were 8 inches wide and and the internet was dial-up. Funnily enough, only 20 years have passed since then (and no, I'm not "old"). Technology just advances that quickly!
It runs in the family
I am not afraid of technology. My parents are both programmers, so you could say that coding is in the genes (pun intended, heh heh). It didn't take long to find how-to HTML books around the house, and after a quick read-through and frequent trips to the W3schools website I thought I would be set to create my own web page. Right? Not so much...
Technical Difficulties
Update! I re-evaluated my situation and decided that simplifying would be the best thing to do. In other
words, instead of trying to get you to see this,
decided to compromise my ridiculous standards and use what Google gave me:
Chrome
Google Fonts
Blogger
Side note: The concept of linking an image to a bigger version of itself was my nemesis, until I discovered the problem could be easily resolved by using the links created by Blogger. Duh.
It might still take a bit of tinkering to "optimize" the code for use across major browsers, but I will thank you for your tolerance with awkward formatting and, of course, visiting this page!

Yes, I am aware that you were probably expecting paper flowers, especially by the second post of a blog called Paper Petalody. Those posts will come shortly... In the meantime, how about a snippet about everyone's favourite web topic!

So, what happens when you have an old, weather-worn shed in a neighbourhood with feral cats? Homeless kittens!
The mother cat (who we named Mama) found shelter in the backyard storage shed after having kittens in the chilly month of November, while we made sure Mama and her babies were warm and well-fed. Some wandered and left after a few months, and we found homes for the two that were left behind. I adopted this guy!
