Welcome to the Virtual Jungle
Blog Beat Blog Beat Hello | Martin Solveig ft. Dragonette

Hey everyone and welcome to my blog, Paper Petalody! This is my very first entry and I am so excited to finally get this thing going! I have always been passionate about arts and crafts and hope to inspire you with my flowery creations…
So, to start things off, a brief introduction...

About to get personal, people!

   Name:   Bianca
   Status:   Nerd
   Country:   Eh!
Likes:   Montreal-style bagels, nighttime cityscape photos, fresh fruit, dancing
Dislikes:   Mosquitos, humidity, typos, unclean hands
   Raisons D'êtres:   Palettes and pipettes
  Yeah, I write this blog...
Hi there! I'm Bianca.

This is where I live...

Canada, my home and native land! Maple syrup, hockey, snow, maple syrup served over snow... Cliché, sure, but I'll take a chill over a sweat any day. Also, geese...
Side Note:   Maple syrup over snow is a real thing! Visit a Cabane à Sucre (Sugar Shack) in spring!

This is what I do...

Craft. When it comes to the type, it's essentially anything I can get my hands on and (safely) do at home‒ baking, beading, sketching, painting, sewing, writing, crocheting‒ whatever doesn't involve a blowtorch, table saw, protective equipment, or several thousand degrees of heat.

...and this is why

Crafting is my creative outlet—I love putting artsy things together knowing it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be me. There are no rules when it comes to a blank canvas, so if I can imagine it, I can create it. It’s the kind of freedom that’s hard to find anywhere else. It makes me feel like a bit of a rebel, living in a world where the only limits are the ones I create. But let’s not get carried away… my artistic expression is not about a conventional upheaval against “The Man”…

Life can throw a lot of curve balls, and as a two-time cancer survivor, I have lived through many not-so-sunshiny situations. This is when art became my passion. When I had trouble finding beauty in the world, I created it—but not just for me. Adding a bit of pizzazz to your life (or hospital room) can really lift spirits, which goes a long way when it comes to feeling better. That is why I do this. Putting a smile on someone's face is the greatest joy I know, whether it comes from giving something I created, or just reminding someone that even simple scraps of paper have the potential to become something wonderful.

"I don't think of all the misery, but the beauty that still remains..." - Anne Frank
