Lung cancer is the second-most common cancer, but the first in mortality. The current five-year (relative) survival rate of lung cancer is 18%1.
Smoking or non?
The major causes of lung cancer are smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke. You've probably heard that before, but take into consideration that the majority of cases can be prevented by eliminating smoke from the environment. And by majority, I mean that up to 90% of lung cancer cases could have been prevented...
Yeah, that's a vast majority, and specifically, 90% of men and >70% of women1
