Vile Bile

Liver cancer has the 18th highest incidence rate in Canada and the 16th highest mortality rate among cancers1. The lifetime probability of developing liver cancer is less than 1% for both men and women. The incidence of liver cancer is rising; the cause is partially explained by rising immigration from countries where liver diseases that increase the risk of developing liver cancer, such as hepatitis, are more common2,3. The 5-year (relative) survival rate of liver cancer is 18%1.
